Index Spotlight’s Excluded Directories

I used to enjoy using the Finder’s search function to locate invisible files. Unfortunately, Spotlight (introduced in Mac OS X 10.4) comes pre-configured with a list of excluded directories, and these excluded directories contain most of the invisible files that I frequently search for. Fortunately, Mac OS X Hints has a comprehensive article on configuring Spotlight to index excluded directories.
