Tom, I am glad that I could brighten you day, even by something as simple as activating full feeds. ^_^ You should have told me sooner. ^_-

Thanks for going full feeds James - I am subscribed to many blogs and read them all through my RSS reader - this makes the reading of your blog far easier (for me, at least!).

Cheers,

Believe me, using RSS to subscribe to all of your regular blog and news reads will make your life a whole lot easier. ^_^

From what I have seen, it still seems that the dedicated RSS reader is the most popular form of aggregator. If you choose to go this route, I highly recommend RSSOwl.

The next form of aggregator is the web-based RSS reader. If you choose to go this route, I highly recommend either Bloglines or NewsGator. I personally prefer this form of aggregator, because the web-based access allows me to keep my feeds organized and stay in sync between home and work without having to manage two separate readers.

And, finally, the least popular form of aggregator (according to my stats) is the browser-integrated RSS reader. If you use Safari v2, you can bookmark an RSS feed and add it to your bookmarks bar. The number of new posts will be collected at a user-set interval and displayed next to the bookmark. If you want to monitor more than one feed, open all of them in tabs, bookmark the tab set, and add that to your bookmarks bar. The number of new posts in the tab set will be collected at a user-set interval and displayed next to the bookmark. If you use Firefox, you can subscribe to feeds using "Live Bookmarks" just like you would have with Safari, or use one of the few extensions available to add integrated RSS support. If you choose to go this route, I highly recommend either Sage or Lektora.

I hope that helps! Please let me know if you need any more information. ^_^

Well, I WOULD'VE responded, except that I still haven't taken to RSS yet.

When I read your post yesterday, I downloaded two RSS readers, but is this how most people get their RSS feeds? From dedicated RSS readers?

It seems cumbersome, having to open a separate program. Why not just open your browser and hit "Open All Tabs" in a bookmark folder?

Or do people depend on services like Bloglines? I haven't tried that yet.
