Favored Freeware: D2X
D2X is an enhanced version of Descent 2 with 3D OpenGL graphics.
At this stage, most of Descent 2 works under Linux, Windows, and MacOS X. Supported features include: Graphics, Sound, OpenGL, Joystick, Mouse, CD audio, Movies, and Networking.
Pros: D2X is a fun time-wasting game. Playing D2X is like playing Doom in a space ship. It’s just fun. I can’t explain it any further. D2X is a cross-platform game for Mac, Windows, Linux, Unix, DOS, and PocketPC.
Cons: None significant.
